Huey P. Long Bridge Repainting
About the Project
The master plan consisted of seven unique abrasive blast cleaning and painting projects. This first project started in 1999. It was the first time the structure was abrasive blast cleaned since 1935. The first segment consisted of the abrasive blasting and painting of west bank approach metal work. This work was completed in 2001. The final segment started in early 2017 that consisted of the center truss abrasive blast cleaning and painting and will be complete by the end of 2017.
KGC Performed:
- TSP-lead high volume ambient air monitoring
- Hazardous waste and waste water oversight
- Reviewed contractor environmental, health and safety submittals for conformance with the project specification.
