Huey P. Long Bridge Widening
About the Project
The $1.2 billion widening project started in April 2006 and is the first change to the structure since it opened in 1935. The project expansed the structure from two 9-foot lanes to three 11-foot lanes with a 2-foot inside shoulder and an 8-foot outside shoulder. It also includes new signalized intersections to replace the traffic circle at Jefferson Highway and Bridge City Avenue in Jefferson Parish, LA. KGC Environmental provided TSP monitoring for the duration of the job.
KGC Performed:
- TSP-lead high volume ambient air monitoring
- Hazardous waste and waste water oversight
- Reviewed contractor environmental, health and safety submittals for conformance with the project specification.
